It’s not only a new website that we have to offer our customers this winter. We have now introduced a whole new service to enable customers the ability to drop-off their parcel at selected access points around the UK.
The drop off services comes from UPS, who have over 4000 access points around the country. Customers can simply select the drop-off service when sending a parcel to any UPS service enabled destination when booked online via Worldwide Parcel Services. When selecting the UPS drop-off service from WPS, our new booking system enables you to locate your nearest access point when you type your postcode.
From there, a number of access points will become available, including newsagents, petrol stations, grocery stores and many other businesses. Most access points are open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm at weekends.
Why is the UPS drop-off service better than the collection?
Overall, it is cheaper and much quicker. The service is at least 1 day quicker than usual services at Worldwide Parcel Services. Since you will be dropping your parcel off at an access point, it will not need to come back via our hub.
What’s more, you simply won’t have to wait in for the driver to come and collect your parcel from you.
Some important things to remember when using the UPS drop-off service: the max weight allowed is 20 kilos, with the max length being 80cm by 300cm girth. As well, when using this service, you must provide 2 forms of ID when dropping your parcel off at your local UPS access point.
