Send a Parcel to Toronto, Canada

The city of Toronto has its skyline dominated by the CN Tower, finished in 1976 it was the Worlds tallest structure until 2007 when it got passed by the Burj Khalifa.

It's a densely packed city defined by its high rise buildings. Its architecture underwent major changes in the 60’s and 70’s with major areas of the city being remodelled or demolished to add further parking as the population grew.

Toronto is a relatively new city and did not really come about until the 18th century when the British Crown purchased the land and established the Town of York, becoming a City and renamed as Toronto in 1834.

Accordingly like many new cities it is home to a diverse population and around 50% of all residents were born outside of Canada.

The city of Toronto will play host to the Pan-Am games in 2015.

The local economy is boosted by it being Canada’s commercial capital and it houses five of the nations largest banks as well as the well known Toronto stock exchange. Overall the city is home to around 2.6 million people making it the fifth largest in North America, as its metropolitan area is home to a further 5.6 million people.

It shares its shore with Lake Ontario, which can result in off lake breezes year round. In terms of overall weather it has snow from November to April, and summers can be warm but humid due to the lake. Its urban nature means that it is in general warmer than surrounding regions.

When shipping parcels to Toronto, and postage to Canada in general, then you need to pay careful attention when attempting to ship foodstuffs and plant material, many of which have restrictions in place that you need to check out prior to shipping your parcels in order to avoid items being confiscated or destroyed. Certain plants can’t be imported at all.
