Send a Parcel to Warsaw, Poland
Warsaw like the rest of Poland is at last seeing good days again and is expanding at a faster rate than ever before in its history with its biggest economic boom and vast foreign investment.
Warsaw has had a chequered past and throughout the ages has had to suffer a series of wars that, at times, has decimated it. Its central position in Northern Europe has meant that it is a strategic city, which dominates the area around. The first fortified settlements were built around the 9th and 10th centuries and the disputes have started from then. The city was known as the Paris of the East in the 1700s. Having been the capital of South Prussia and liberated by Napoleon it became the centre of the Congress of Poland.
Its dark days were World War I when it was occupied by Germany and again in World War II when 30% of its population (Jewish) was herded into the Warsaw Ghetto and eventually exterminated. At the end of the war Hitler ordered it to be razed to the ground and 85% of the city was destroyed. A tragedy that still lives with the survivors and their children
The Russians took over after the war and instituted a Communist Government but today the country is free and part of the EU and Warsaw is a thriving city with the Historic Centre being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The economy is thriving with many companies using the lower labour costs but highly educated personnel to introduce a range of companies. It has the biggest hi tech and electronics industry in Poland and a large food processing business.
The parcel delivery with a good supplier is cheap from the UK and relations between the UK and Warsaw are excellent. Warsaw is an ideal place to do business, with no tariff boundaries, excellent communications and a very fast moving workforce. Deliveries are can be next day and large deliveries are becoming more common.
